Who we are

The Association as formed in 1989 and incorporated in 2008 to administer, promote and manage the development of cricket umpires within the Hornsby Ku- Ring- Gai & Hills District Cricket Association.

What we do

We provide umpires for the Senior, Junior (finals) and Representative Competitions as our primary responsibility. Training courses for Captains, players and managers are offered in addition to continuing education seminars for our umpires.

THE HORNSBY KU-RING-GAI& HILLS DISTRICT CRICKET UMPIRES ASSOCIATION

The HKHDCUA has been in operation, in a formal sense, since 1989, however, a small group of umpires officiated in the Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai & Hills District Cricket Association Senior Competition for many seasons prior to that time.

Incorporated n 2008, our Association is affiliated with the NSW Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association and provides umpires for the NSW Youth Championship fixtures across the Sydney Region, Central Coast and Newcastle.

In addition to Senior matches, the Association also provides umpires for the Junior Semi and Grand Finals and other junior development fixtures.

Our umpires officiate in an area from St Ives in the south to Berowra in the north and Kenthurst to the west.

We conduct Training Seminars for players in the Senior Competition, focusing upon the MCC Laws, Local Playing Conditions, and, importantly, the Responsibilities of a Captain.

These programs have a long history of success in up skilling the captains and senior players in acting efficiently as player umpires in the lower grades within the HKHDCA Senior Competition and improving the respect for the Spirit of the Game.

We also offer our umpires a pre-season Seminar in which we focus upon changes in the MCC or Local Playing Conditions and a specific topic within the development of umpire’s field craft and communication.

The Association has built an excellent reputation within the cricket community that it serves and includes members of all ages and backgrounds, a totally inclusive group of dedicated cricket lovers.
