We welcome new members to our association, be they ex-players, existing umpires who have moved into our area or close by, and provide, if required, further education, mentoring and inclusion to our team.

Our major commitment is to the Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai & Hills District Cricket Association Senior Competitions, which are conducted on Saturday afternoons, in one day and two-day formats, across some 10 grades.

The A Grade Competition is conducted on turf wickets across the three Local Government Areas as suggested by the name of the association.

Our geographic region of operation

From St Ives in the south to Berowra in the north to Kenthurst in the west, utilising turf grounds in Berowra, Mt Colah, Kenthurst, Hornsby, Wahroonga and Turramurra, and synthetic pitches across the suburbs in our region, we can provide you with a positive umpiring experience with a minimum of travel, with an experienced and dedicated group of people from a broad spectrum of backgrounds in our inclusive game.

Interested? then take the first step today

Our Vice President (Recruitment and Training) is Geoff Hasler, who can be contacted in the first instance at geoffhasler70@gmail.com

We would appreciate if you could provide some background by outlining your cricket and umpiring experience and qualifications within your initial contact, the suburb in which you live, so that we can respond and steer you in the best direction to join us within your availability time frame, as not everyone can umpire every week due to other commitments, which we fully understand.

Our umpires are paid an expense allowance for their appointments, at an approximate rate of $25 per hour and we assist by providing an HKHDCUA shirt free of charge, bowling markers, over cards etc and most importantly, a fellowship and positive time in the third team on the field.

It is the custom of many of our umpires to visit the premises of our sponsor, The Asquith Club, to share a few tales of the days play, and meet with your new friends in cricket.
